Consultation

01

proposal / selection

02

After the initial appointment, I will prepare and present a proposal that consists of a selection of three sketches along with fabric/embellishment options. Together we will review and discuss the three designs to help consolidate the final design.

design process

03

The next step is the creation of the pattern and the first made to measure prototype.

Upon order confirmation, there is an initial deposit of 50% of the agreed-to cost of the gown. This deposit will cover materials and a portion of labor. The full balance is due at the final fitting. The turn-around time is discussed and agreed upon once the final design has been confirmed.

prototype / fittings

04

  • The first prototype will be sewn in a muslin fabric for the first fitting. This will ensure that the fit is correct and it will reveal if additional alterations are necessary.

  • In case the prototype needs modifications, a second fitting will be needed before the final mockup.

  • The final mockup will be made using a fabric similar to the final design. This will allow the bride to try on a gown that's close to the final one.

final product

05

  • Once the final mockup is perfected and approved, we move on to assembling the final piece.

  • The final fitting leads to the big reveal, where the client will try on the final creation. This is the last fitting where any small adjustment is addressed before the set delivery date.
